Berkshire Furniture, formerly known as Bernstein Furniture, has a rich history dating back to its founding by Solomon Bernstein in 1903. Originally established on Springfield Avenue in Newark, the store underwent several relocations and name changes before settling into its current location on Springfield Avenue in Springfield, New Jersey. The store's evolution reflects the involvement of successive generations of the Bernstein family. Solomon's son, Leo Bernstein, played a pivotal role in relocating the business to South Orange and renaming it Berkshire Furniture. In 1953, Lawrence and Harold Bernstein, Leo's sons, joined contributing to its growth and success. In 1991, Eric Bernstein, Lawrence's son, joined Berkshire Furniture.
