Founded by Dixon Smith in 1950, the Shop began as a “Design Studio” on St. Charles Street in downtown Baton Rouge. Known for her love of clean lines, Dixon designed with the idea that “rooms and furniture are to be used and enjoyed”. Today, the Shop is owned and operated by Dixon's son, Jim Smith, who has been with the company for decades. At Dixon Smith Interiors, we have taken these principles and applied them to the furniture we carry today. Never concerned with trends, our style has focused on high-end, exclusive pieces for over 70 years. We are a design haven in Baton Rouge inviting everyone to explore and learn while fulfilling their stylistic visions.
