The right wood is key to making Mountain Man Crafting (MMC) furniture. Hours are spent in the woods picking out the perfect fallen trees. Not only does this create a beautiful piece, but it also helps with fire mitigation in the forest. The wood is sorted, focusing on the pieces with the most character. MMC looks for insect trails, interesting knots, or even unique curves and twists in the wood. Then MMC measures and designs the table, drills the screw holes, and prepares each piece. Once assembled, then sanded, hand-finished with paints or stains, sanded again to give it a rustic look, and finally hand-brushed with a glossy finish. This is to protect the wood for years to come, bringing a bit of Southwest Colorado into your home.
